Electric Guitars
Ibanez hollowbodies from the early 70's have a reputation for both sound and build quality that at the time easily put them toe-to-toe with the American brands. In 1977, this resulted in Gibson launching a lawsuit against Ibanez which forced them to change certain aspects of their guitars, most notably the headstock shape. This Ibanez 2355 is a lovely pre-lawsuit example in the original configuration. It is impossible to give a definite year of production on this guitar but we believe it was most likely made in 1973, based on markings on the back of the pickups. We believe that the tuners have been replaced at some point and the guitar now features a set of Grover Imperials. All other spec appears to be original including 2 Maxon humbuckers featuring the markings "13 10", a tune-o-matic bridge with trapeze tailpiece, Rosewood fretboard, laminated maple top, back and mahogany sides and lastly of course, an open-book headstock.
