Usually Fender would employ the likes of alder or ash when coming to the finished article of one of their guitar builds. However, the new Limited Edition American Professional Jazzmaster has been carefully handmade using reclaimed wood which once would have been located in a furniture store. By using this unique tonewood, each model has its very own individual character while retaining all the classic features of a Fender Jazzmaster.
Originally designed to be an upgrade on the Stratocaster particulary for jazz musicians, the Jazzmaster is now a favourite among fans of a wide variety of genres. The American Pro Jazzmaster keeps the comfortable offset-waist design of the body, offering a superb playing feel whether onstage or jamming in the studio. The most notable feature of this Limited Edition is the Pine which is used to construct the body. Beginning at the Buckstaff Furniture Company many years ago, Fender have reclaimed this wood, cooked it and then skillfully crafted the body of the American Pro Pine Jazzmaster.
Firmly joined to the body is a maple neck which is shaped to a modern "Deep C" profile for a snug grip. The neck is topped with a 9.5 inch radius maple fingerboard which is arched perfectly for both chords and complex note formations and string bends. There are 22 narrow tall frets on offer adorned with black dot inlays to guide you.
A prominent feature of many Jazzmaster models is their pickups, and this tradition is followed in the Limited Edition American Pro Pine Jazzmaster. Fender have employed a powerful pair of V-Mod single-coil Jazzmaster pickups in keeping with that vintage '50s sound. The pickups sit in the neck and bridge positions and work wonderfully with the pine body and maple neck to produce a full-bodied, crystal clear voice. Master Volume and Tone controls allow for easy tonal amendments to be made, while the Treble-Bleed circuit also preserves that high-end clarity.
The Limited Edition has a Jazzmaster/Jaguar bridge with nickel-plated brass Mustang saddles, vintage-style floating tremolo with locking tremolo button and screw-in arm. This bridge secures the strings while improving tone and sustain, even after plenty of use of the integrated screw-in tremolo arm. The Jazzmaster headstock features Fender Standard Cast / Sealed Staggered tuning machines, upholding tuning integrity with precision.
To protect this elegant, uniquely-designed guitar, Fender include a hardshell case with each purchase.
